October 1, 2016: FINAL DRAFTS

In light of the loss of a friend, I've written a short film.  Tragedy is never the chosen spark of inspiration, but it can heal and help.  Stay tuned for news regarding production.

RIP L.R. <3

September, 2016: KENSHO AT THE BEDFELLOW PREMIERES @ PICKFORD CINEMA

"Kensho at the Bedfellow" had it's PNW premiere this weekend in Bellingham, WA, which happens to be my old stomping grounds.  I was unable to take time away from Los Angeles to join in the fun, but my local paper and radio station covered the action.  This was a great honor for me, and I look forward to seeing where else this film goes!  Check out the interview below at the link!

Summer 2016: Living the California Dream!

Summer slows down in Los Angeles, but the good times sure don't.  Between classes with Steve Braun at BGB, lounging in the Napa Valley, survival job upgrades, a trip to the UK, and quality time with my girls, I'd say it's a summer to remember.  Cheers!

May, 2016: UNCAGED ON NETFLIX!

Check me out on Netflix now!  Boulderlight Pictures presents "UNCAGED."  You might wanna cover your eyes here and there...

March, 2016: 5,4,3,2,1

Filming a gritty, revenge noir (as usual!) with Jesse Michaels of the notorious Operation Ivy.  "5,4,3,2,1" has been a guerilla effort for all of us, which only makes it more fun.  You can see me "hanging around" on set here!

January, 2016: WORKING WITH FLOPPY DISK PRODUCTIONS/ZARED SHAI

Proud to be exploring the art of filmmaking with my pal Zared.  You can see his brilliant work in the indie hit "Me, Earl and the Dying Girl" as editor.  Zared is branching out into the world of directing, and we have amazing collaborators on board, including Alex Beh of "Warren."

I'm honored to be joining the cast of Albie Selznick's "Smoke & Mirrors," at the Road Theatre to play Bess Houdini this fall!  "Smoke & Mirrors," directed by David Schweizer, is an LA Times Critic's Choice pick and has been a welcomed artistic challenge.  Not only does it require the usual skills of a stage performance, but I've also had to learn tons of highly technical sleight-of-hands and feats of misdirection.  Check us out and get tickets here:

September 25, 2014:  SHOOTING WITH ROBERT HAYMAN PHOTOGRAPHY

I had the honor and pleasure of shooting with my dear friend, Robert Hayman!  Assisted by Hector Flores, this shoot is more editorial and visceral, aligned with the music I've been creating lately.  You can check out the results in the gallery section, and here's a sneak peek!

I've decided to switch coasts, and arrived here in LA this month!  The second I set down, I was called back to shoot another episode of "High Maintenance" back in New York.  I was happy to reprise my role in this episode, starring Yael Stone of "Orange is the New Black."  This episode, entitled "Esme," will be out in February of 2015 along with the episode "Sufjan" which I filmed in July.

July 23rd, 2014: FEATURED ROLE ON "HIGH MAINTENANCE"

One of my absolute favorite series is "High Maintenance" by Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair.  You can find the series here: http://vimeo.com/channels/highmaintenance .  While I held out hope I'd be on the show sometime in the next few years, the opportunity arose and you can see me below on set with Ben and some of the major players of this installment.  This episode should be out in 2015!

AVbyte is thrilled to have been asked to perform at LeakyCon in Orlando, Florida this August.  Due to the massive success of our "Frozen" video parody (in which I play a sassy Elsa), we will be performing that number, a long with other AVbyte hits for this convention.  You can read all about LeakyCon here, and you can find me featured on their Special Guests lineup!

After the viral success of our "Frozen" parody (now over 30 MILLION views!) we decided to tackle the Disney Villains in our new AVbyte video, "Disney Villains - The Musical, Feat. Maleficent."  I play Cruella de Vil, but with a misunderstood-artiste twist!  We will be performing this number along with the "Frozen" parody song (and more!) at LeakyCon this year!  Watch "Disney Villains" here:

I'm pleased to announce I'll be portraying the lead role of Vivian in "Nags Head,"  an NYU thesis film by Lauren Mullen.  We'll be filming in North Carolina from April 18th to the 26th, and we begin rehearsals this week.  Here's a link to the film's Kickstarter page so that you can learn more about the project:

April 6, 2014:  WRAPPED FILMING OF "WAVES FULL OF BLISS"

While working on "Kensho at the Bedfellow,"  I was lucky enough to meet Sara Cicillian and Russel Uddin, two actors and creators.  They were at the time in pre-production for "Waves Full of Bliss," a short film that will be used as promotional and fundraising material for a feature entitled "Birds of Paradise."  They asked me to take on the role of Marlene, a young, struggling, recently let-go nurse.  This character appears in both the short as well as the feature, which we hope to begin production on sometime this year.  We finished shooting "Waves" over the weekend, and from what peeks I could sneak from the monitor, it's going to be a gem!  Here's our Facebook page:

I was part of this I incredible video by Maverick NYC for the new TriBeCa music video competition. This video is INTERACTIVE so you can choose to follow different moments from two different lives--one of them being that of my character. If you choose the New York icons you get me, if you choose the London icons you get the other character. Both are beautiful and you can go back and forth as you wish!  The link is below:

We're entering the final days of the "Kensho at the Bedfellow" Indiegogo campaign!  This final push for funding will help with final pick-up shots, as well as with the post-production process and festival submissions.   View our TEASER (you'll see me a couple of times!) as well as our campaign info here:

February 24, 2014 : BROADWAY BY THE YEAR

I joined the ensemble of the Broadway by the Year Series: Broadway Musicals of 1915-1939 at Town Hall NYC.  This concert featured Stephanie D'Abruzzo,  Sebastian ArcelusTonya Pinkins, Stephanie J. Block, Emily Skinner, Julia Murney, Joshua Henry and more!  It was delightful to be onstage and backstage with some of my favorite actors.

So I've officially gone VIRAL!  This February I was asked by the AVbyte brothers if I wanted to be part of their "Frozen"-themed parody of Disney princess relationships.  As a fan of the movie and especially of the admirable Elsa, I was more than happy to join the team.  The video has over 15,000,000 view to date!  You can see me as a no-nonsense Elsa in the link below, as well as on my Media page.

January 20th, 2014:  WRAPPED "UNCAGED" SHOOT IN UPSTATE NY

As a horror film buff, it's been one of my greatest goals to become "that girl" in a horror film--you know, the one who dies partially clothed and drenched in her own blood?  Well, my dream came true during "UNCAGED."  This feature horror film comes to you from Boulderlight Pictures.  Their last film, "Contracted," was released through IFC Midnite, and is now streaming on Netflix!

November 20, 2013:  WRAPPED "KENSHO AT THE BEDFELLOW" SHOOT

My character, April, was an interesting challenge because she died before the movie began, thus catapulting the main character into a crisis of identity and spirituality.  I'm honored to have worked on a this project with a host of great New York-based actors, from Dana Ashbrook ("Twin Peaks") to Kathryn Erbe ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent) to Tony-nominated Sahr Ngaujah ("Fela!").  I especially have to thank the film's lead actor/director/writer Brad Raider ("The Trouble With Normal," "That Was Then,") for bringing me onboard this project straight out of college.  Here's our Facebook and official website:

November 14th, 2013:  SHORT FILMS & SPEC COMMERCIALS

Faking confidence!

Faking confidence!

I've been working for the past few weeks on a variety of projects.  In late September I began working on a Zipcar spec commercial directed by Andrew Flores of Pistolero Films.  This shoot challenged me in a number of ways: I learned to drum (decently well), I learned to drive in NYC, and I also learned how to fake-surf!   In October I wrapped "Crop," an NYU student film by Kyle Ginzburg that examines the lives of two modern-day vampires through a unique lens.  Next I went back-and-forth between the sets of "Kensho at the Bedfellow" and "Waiting for Tomorrow," an NYU Grad student film by Eric Hsiao.  On my birthday, November 14th, I filmed scenes for both projects, which was an extremely satisfying test of endurance and quite the birthday treat.  All three projects should be finished by late Spring, 2014.

August 25th, 2013:  FINISHED SHOOTING "THOSE WHO WANDER"

When I was at NYU, director Abigail Ann Schwarz reached out to me for a few of her projects.  Sadly, the stars never seemed to align; every time we wanted to work together some curriculum-related conflict always got in the way.  However, I was finally able to work with Abigail on her first feature length indie comedy, "Those Who Wander."  James Frey (A Million Little Pieces) loved her script and signed on as executive producer, and Abigail was able to bring Bonnie Wright ("Harry Potter") and Jacob Zachar ("Greek," ABC Family) onto the project.  Abigail cast me as Violet, the strange, white-trash girlfriend of a motel drug-dealer.  This was a great character role, and I was stoked to be working with a fantastic cast.
